NATO has done a terrible job. NATO has set lofty goals wanting to be seen as the humanitarian policeman, largely driven by US influence. It went into the conflict wanting to be seen as stablizing force of the region. Yet NATO has not committed the means to achieve any of it's lofty goals. From the start it bluntly rejected ground troops and only committed high-altitude bombing. You cannot fight a war like that. This simply shows that NATO and the United States do not want to risk any casualties of it's own. All NATO is interested in is protecting it's pilots. There are not even low-level flights. All this exposes that NATO and the US are cowards and basically want 100% results with a 1% commitment. So it is ironic that, if NATO is so furious about the refugees driven out why it is not making any commitment.
What NATO is fighting is not a war to punish Milosevic or return the refugees. NATO is fighting a so called war for it's own interests and the lives of its pilots. Soldiers are trained to fight and prepared to die. You do not fight a war without soldiers. If NATO and Americans are so afraid of losing it's soldiers then they should not get involved in the first place. In other words, cowards do not fight wars. This lack of commitment is the reason that the bombing has gone on 50 days with absolutely no results, other than civilian casualties. NATO went in this conflict knowing that air bombing alone would not be effective, it had admitted that, so why does it still do it? A war cannot be fought without plans, What NATO is doing is like going to the bathroom to take a dump knowing there's no toilet paper. This again shows how selfish NATO and the US are: they only care about there own lives and NOT the refugees as they want to have you believe. Of course, if Milosevic had surrendered. It's great publicity for NATO, for it would become a "hero", a champiagn of democracy - what NATO leaders planned. But no, whatever NATO is doing is backfiring. The refugees are now not only driven out by Milosevic but also by NATO bombing. NATO had come into this mess and made it WORSE.
As for the embassy bombing, Kelly you are extremely insensitive. You said "As for the bomibing of the Chinese Embassy, well, that's war. " well, that's because you are not Chinese. If American soldiers were sent out there and died, I want to hear you say "Well, that's just war" again. And we cannot even equate the two, those killed are civilians while Americans are too chicken to even consider putting their their own lives at risk, let along wanting to achieve the image of being "humanitarianism". I don't know, maybe Americans do believe there is a "free luch". Don't give me all the BS about how the refugees suffer while all you are concerned is how to minimize casualties and not fly too low so your planes don't get shot down. And Kelly, it has nothing to do with education either. Your people get killed, you get outraged, that's common sense. Picture the dragging of a dead American soldier across the streets in Somalia a few years earlier, I want to here you say "well, that's just war".
